Large German Chandelier in Chrome-Plated Steel
Chandelier, chrome-plated steel, coated steel, Germany, 1960s.
This design resembles the design aesthetics of Italian designer Gaetano Sciolari, known for his abundant use of metals and clean, streamlined shapes. Comprising cylindrical tubes crafted from chromed steel and divided over two rows, the lamp is secured to a black coated steel frame. Each end of the tube is fitted with a lightbulb, casting light both upwards and downwards. The chrome material elegantly reflects the light, and the abundance of lightbulbs imparts a luminous and commanding presence to the piece.
Kindly be aware that this item is in used condition. The metal exhibits oxidation, and the chrome layer requires restoration as it has started to peel. Restoration is possible before shipping by our experienced craftspeople in our own in-house restoration atelier. With high attention for the original, they make sure every piece retains its value and is ready for the many years to come. We kindly ask you to contact our design experts for further information about the endless possibilities our restoration and upholstery atelier has to offer. Of course, a locally organized restoration is possible as well.
